Antico

Created by the team that brought you Death & Taxes and Dr Gimlette, Antico allows you to escape the city in this chic yet relaxed bilevel bar nestled in Brisbane’s oldest laneway, Burnett Lane. We have sourced furnishings and created a beautiful, lavish space inspired by the best cocktail bars in Italy.

At Antico the multi-tiered display of spirits from across the globe sits behind our opulent, rich marble bar top, at which our bow tie-wearing bartenders can create a multitude of cocktails.

With our menu focusing on classic cocktails and beautifully scoured ingredients across Brisbane it would be a shame not to drop by. Expertly well-versed in the language of spirits, our bartenders will create custom drinks based on customers’ unique, self-described palates along side with that slice of Italian flare.

On any given afternoon, Antico is open from 4pm and has a steady stream of people, some in business attire and others out for pre or post dinner cocktails. Why not enjoy your afternoon with us at Antico!

Death & Taxes

Burnett Lane is Brisbane's oldest laneway, formed in 1829. It was the original trade entrance for the Queen Street Mall.

Walking down the lane you will stumble across various street art, in particular a large wall of lion faces staring across a deck towards a Grim Reaper. Walk through our  large double wooden doors to find Brisbane's best kept secret.

With inspiration taken from the underground bars of London and Paris, we invite guests to forget the outside world and get lost within the intimate lighting and grand back bar, displaying over 1000 spirit bottles.

Once within the venue, explore our back room where you will find sumptuous booths, matched with 100 year old wooden floors.

We pride ourselves on quality service and delicious drinks, with an extensive signature cocktail menu, wine list and craft beers.

Dr. Gimlette

Dr Gimlette is located on Brisbane’s high end fashion district, Edward street, in one of Brisbane’s oldest buildings.

With the inspiration of the best cocktails bars around the world, the team is thrilled to upholding table service and superior drinks.

It’s name is in honour to surgeon Rear-Admiral Sir Thomas Gimlette (1857–1943), who is said to have first added lime cordial to the daily gin tot of the men in the Royal Navy, to help combat the ravages of scurvy on long voyages. That combination of Gin and Lime Cordial was later adapted and served as the Gimlet Cocktail.

Our beautiful 9-meter-long marble bar allows all guests to see the wonderful heritage brickwork and staff creating the exquisite cocktails from our menu. Luxury finishings of Italian leather booths, hardwood floors and brass light fittings will provide all guest with an escape within the city. There will be 2 Martini Carts available to serve every type of martini with various garnishes, gins and methods to pick from.
