Cuatro Group
About Us
Cuatro Group was founded and created by Martin & Wiebke Lange and Blake & Belinda Ward. Through friendship, determination and resilience, they strive to create a shared vision for Whisky and Cocktail bars in Brisbane CBD. With over a combined 40 years working in the hospitality industry, our team has always looked for the right space and passionate staff to provide guests with a wonderful experience.
Over the past five years the world has changed in the hospitality industry and with this our business has only become stronger. However our vision has always remained the same: regular people giving their all to make spaces in the city where extraordinary things can happen.
Death & Taxes opened in Burnett Lane in 2019, in Brisbanes oldest lane way. This bar dedicated to over 1000 whiskies and a yearly cocktail menu, provides an experience like being in New York or London for a pre or post dinner drink. After winning Australian Whisky Bar of the Year in 2019 & 2021 it has become Brisbanes destination bar for locals, tourists and rare Whisky.
Dr Gimlette opened in 2021 during the global pandemic on Edward street: Brisbanes most prestigious and luxury retail precinct. Within the heritage listed building this Cocktail Bar allows it guests to escape and be immersed around sophistication, chandeliers and opulent fittings. With a beautiful marble top and back bar, staff create an experience for guest with flare and flavour. From classic cocktails to a bespoke Martini Cart where you can watch your drink being made at your table, Dr Gimlette was an illustrious addition to the company.
Antico Bar inspired by …… is set to open mid 2023. Also set in Burnett Lane it will be a venue with a classic 10 cocktail list that will rotate seasonally, world class wine list and simple Italian inspired bar snacks.
“We wanted a space to go where you could have a great drink, chat and relax with friends and be close to Brisbanes night life in the city.”
With this in mind our team has…..

Death & Taxes
Burnett Lane is Brisbane's oldest laneway, formed in 1829. It was the original trade entrance for the Queen Street Mall.

Walking down the lane you will stumble across various street art, in particular a large wall of lion faces staring across a deck towards a Grim Reaper. Walk through our large double wooden doors to find Brisbane's best kept secret.
With inspiration taken from the underground bars of London and Paris, we invite guests to forget the outside world and get lost within the intimate lighting and grand back bar, displaying over 1000 spirit bottles.

Once within the venue, explore our back room where you will find sumptuous booths, matched with 100 year old wooden floors.

We pride ourselves on quality service and delicious drinks, with an extensive signature cocktail menu, wine list and craft beers.

'Tis impossible to be sure of anything but Death and Taxes'
Dr. Gimlette
Dr Gimlette is located on Brisbane’s high end fashion district, Edward street, in one of Brisbane’s oldest buildings.
With the inspiration of the best cocktails bars around the world, the team is thrilled to upholding table service and superior drinks.
It’s name is in honour to surgeon Rear-Admiral Sir Thomas Gimlette (1857–1943), who is said to have first added lime cordial to the daily gin tot of the men in the Royal Navy, to help combat the ravages of scurvy on long voyages. That combination of Gin and Lime Cordial was later adapted and served as the Gimlet Cocktail.
Our beautiful 9-meter-long marble bar allows all guests to see the wonderful heritage brickwork and staff creating the exquisite cocktails from our menu. Luxury finishings of Italian leather booths, hardwood floors and brass light fittings will provide all guest with an escape within the city. There will be 2 Martini Carts available to serve every type of martini with various garnishes, gins and methods to pick from.
